Question: Women: what's the cure for a heavy period flow.?

I know this is kind of gross, and periods are a natural part of being a woman, but I seriously HATE the heavy flow. This week, I can hardly get up without it just....gushing out. It may be impossible but I thought I'd ask: how do you deal with this.? I'm at work and I can hardly blink, let alone function with these numbers, without this excessive flow!
