Hey guys, well, in december im going camping (i know it will be cold but thats "all part of the experience") for teh first time. there are 4 girls going, and 30 boys! yes 30! i asked teh other 3 girl if they think they will be on and 2 said teh definetly wont, the other said she hasnt started. we are 14-15 btw.
There is a lake, there are NO toilets, we just have little shovels to dig a hold then do our business lol.
What should i bring whilst on my period.? i really want to try tampons as i wont need to keep stopping whilst we are camping to change my pad. GRR! plus, if my rucksack gets wet, there will be an awful smell if they arent wrapped up properly! ewwHealth Question & Answer

yes, tampons are going to be best, get some applicator ones as they are so easy to use, buy some mini size to start with, take some regular sized ones with you, and also take some pads as a back up. I think if you has some scented nappy/diaper bags to wrap used sanitary products in, then a cheap tupperware type of tub, there shouldn't be a worry about a smell.
also, a pack of baby wipes or special feminine hygiene wipes are probably going to come in handy!

tampons are the best idea. but it take over 100 years for it to decompose due to all of the harsh chemicals in the cloth. Due to that i must say that you should put it in a bag when your done with it. you dont have to bring the bag to the camping spot. keep it at a secret spot. Good luckHealth Question & Answer

you can bury the pad/tampon if you need to. they will deteriorate. Tampons are a good idea though because you dont have to limit your movements or anything. (and they can go longer periods of time) I know you think they might hurt but when putting one in just take a deep breath, sit up straight and relax. dont take it out oo soon because that really DOES hurt.
