hopefully this will help you, lol.

first, you need to relax your muscles.
if you don't, the tampon will not be inserted correctly.

get into a comfortable position. put knee on toilet, or squat, or what
ever you may prefer.

make sure you have the right size tampon!, and open the package.

put your thumb and middle finger at the end of the tampon applicate(the part that you insert into the vagina), and your index finger on the VERY end of the whole tampon applicate (the thing you use to push the actual tampon inside your vagina).

hold it towards your lower back as you push it in.

It should go in smoothly, if not, try it again.
It will probably take you a couple times to do it!

I just started using tampons less than a year ago, and I was pretty nervous about using them too. :]

Hope I helped!Health Question & Answer

The first time is always the hardest, just because you don't know what to expect and haven't done it yet. The best thing you can do is get the kind of tampons that have a plastic applicator. They go in a lot easier than the cardboard ones. The biggest thing you need to do is RELAX! You can put it in standing up with one leg raised up on the edge of the toilet or tub, or you can put it in lying down. Which ever way you feel more comfortable. Use a mirror to see what you're doing if it makes you feel better. Insert the applicator tip in until you reach the plunger part, then push the plunger. Don't be scared - it doesn't hurt. Hope I've helped you out..and good luck sweetieHealth Question & Answer

I love tampons!!!! There is so much less worry about leaking (use a pantyliner as back up) and they are great if you do sports. They will be uncomfortable the first few times especially if you have not had sex yet. They do make more slender ones for teens you could try and anything with a soft plastic applicator goes in easier. But do not use Vaseline or anything oil based to help lubricate you could get a yeast infection. The easiest ways to insert them at first is to lay on your back with a mirror or squat and feel after you get used to it, it gets routine. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

The important thing is you have to relax it helps to use a mirror so you can see what you are doing and I'll tell you the Tampax pearls or anything with a plastic applicator makes insertion more comfortable you can also put some vaseline on the end that may help to but the main thing don't stress yourself out Health Question & Answer

seriously, using a tampon is when you become okay with seeing and touching yourself down there. you gotta know whats going on before you stick something up there. tampons are so much easier than pads. you just gotta relax and not be stiff. you just need to practice but dont be scared.Health Question & Answer

Okay first off relax. Don't need to put stress on yourself over something small like a tampon. Okay..get in a comfortable postion, some people squat, some people put one leg on the toilet..whatever. Then slowly insert the tampon. Then..ta-da, that's it. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

just use kotex till you are ready. when i started using tampons i didnt like it cause they expand inside and would hurt taking it out but if you really want to use them set one foot up on the toilet seat to insert its easier when you first start using them.Health Question & Answer

ok, one of the best ways to figure out how to do it is to go in you bathroom, sit down with a small mirror and explore a bit in that area. Practice with a couple to get the hang of it. Health Question & Answer

Well I don't know what to tell you lol. Why are you scared.? From personal experience I prefer pads just because I think tampons are nasty, and uncomfortable. I am happy with my Kotex! lol Health Question & Answer
