Question: Ladies, anyone out there have a hysterectomy or know someone who has.?
My mom is going to have to have a hysterectomy and she wants to know if they can leave her ovaries.? Has anyone had a hysterectomy and kept their ovaries.? The ovaries produce hormones and I guess if you get the ovaries taken out then your sex drive will go way down. I am just wanting your experience and what happened to you.? Health Question & Answer

they can remove the uterus and cervix, and leave the ovaries...removal of ovaries is called an Oophorectomy while salpingo-oophorectomy is the removal of the ovary and its adjacent Fallopian tube.Health Question & Answer
