Could underarm pain be related to ovulation?!

Question: Could underarm pain be related to ovulation.?
I ve been having a pain in my left underarm, it is on and off, only around ovulation time , it lasts about a week and the pain comes and goes. When it hurts it is mainly for a few seconds and a few times a day, it is not a constant pain. My underarm is not painful on touch and i cant feel any lumps. Should i be worried.? Is it normal to feel this pain during ovulation.? I am 35, is it related to age.? I didn't have this before... also, my breasts are extremely sensitive and painful at the same time. Not actual ovulation no, breast pain one experiences in relation to their menstrual cycle usually occurs in the second part of their cycle. It's called Cyclical mastalgia which tends to get worse in the days just before a period. Ovulation happens mid cycle. You need to go and get this checked out with your GP.

If this pain is present on and off all the time it is likely non-cyclical breast pain which is not related to periods and and will need investigating to rule out any causes. Sometimes this will just go away on it's own, it's likely harmless. But is always best to get checked out. If there is no underlying cause, topical/oral NSAIDs may help.Health Question & Answer

You're right: the pain can be related to ovulation - especially since your breasts are also tender. There is tissue similar to breast tissue in the underarm area - which is why you're supposed to do the monthly breast exam from your breast up to and including your underarm area. If your breasts are tender, it means there is water retention, which causes some swelling. The underarm tissue can react in the same way, giving you the pain that you are feeling monthly. If it concerns you that it still could be something else, I'd mention it to my OB-GYN on the next visit.Health Question & Answer

There is breast tissue clear up into your underarm and also a gland, I believe. So if your breasts are sensitive, your underarms may be also. Since you are 35 and never experienced this before, I'd set up an appt to discuss it with your gyno, especially since you've directly related the time frame to ovulation.
I know how that feels, I've felt both before, but only about once a year, so I've never asked about it. Good Luck, and Good Health!Health Question & Answer

it could very well be to do with ovulation. and as it conensides with it i would say that you were right to think this. however it is breast cnacer aareness month and this can be a sign of that don't want to worry you but if you have any doubts i would go to the doc'sHealth Question & Answer

You could have a cyst that becomes sensitive as you near your cycle (I have this and yes, its randomly painful and really kinda scary the first time you feel it). Let your Gyno know the next time you go in for an exam.Health Question & Answer

I think the under arm pain is in conjunction with your breast pain and not with ovulation. Do you do monthly breast exams.? If you do, do you check up under your arms for lumps.? Health Question & Answer

Some times in underarm area you could have breast gland cells which are reacting to hormonal picks - it will be recommended to start regular breast self-exam (read below) and check regularly the underarm areaHealth Question & Answer

I have seen this before, it was hormone related.
The unkind RMO said it was "an accessory breast giving suck to the devil".Health Question & Answer
