Shorter Periods and brown discharge?!

Question: Shorter Periods and brown discharge.?
So my periods have gotten lighter lately, and it seems like there is more brown discharge towards then end than there was blood through the period. They are only lasting 3-4 days. I am miserable the first day with pain and discomfort. I know the discomfort is normal, but what about all the brown discharge that exceeds the amount of blood.? I am not on the pill and not sexually active.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Brown/darkish discharge is caused by what's left at the end of your last period. Most often, this is a part of the endometrium (uterine lining) shedding and is nothing to be concerned about.

Blood colour does vary, a few people's start off fairly bright red, and then as it slows down turns a brownier colour. I wouldn't worry about its colour, if your cycle is regular and your are not suffering alot of pain then its probably ok. Blood colour and flow rate can also vary from cycle to cycle.

If you are really concerned see your doctor.Health Question & Answer

Your body is just changing. The brown stuff is still blood its just old, doesn't sound like you have anything to be worried about but if you want to be 100% sure you should talk to your gyno.Health Question & Answer
