Lighter period after taking Plan B last month. Is it because of Plan B or implantation bleeding? ?!

Question: Lighter period after taking Plan B last month. Is it because of Plan B or implantation bleeding.? .?
Hi,

I took Plan B last month after having safe sex (we used condoms, and he didn't ejaculate inside the condom or me) just to be safe. Now, after a month, my first period (don't confuse with the Plan B period/spotting few days after taking the pills!) looks lighter. When I go to the bathroom, I notice there isn't much blood on my pad but when I wipe, there's a lot of blood and its pretty thin (not typical during my regular periods). Is this a sign of pregnancy or because of hormonal changes by taking Plan B.? Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Firstly, if you used a condom AND he didn't come in you...there was absolutely no need to take that pill and it's ridiculous to put your body through that for no good reason - the surge of hormones will disrupt your period for several cycles and since there was practically no chance of you getting pregnant anyway, you can be sure it's not implantation bleeding. However, it's worth remembering that each time you use the morning after pill, some effectiveness is lost - so if you ever do have an accident or unprotected sex, some of the effectiveness of the morning after pill has been lost to you - and again, for no good reason. It wasn't wise to take it on this occasion, but to repeat my answer - you are not pregnant. Your hormones and cycles will be messed up for a couple of months. Health Question & Answer
