Tubal Ligation Reversals?!
Question: Tubal Ligation Reversals.?
My husband and I talked about the possibility of reversing my tubal ligation. We talked about not having kids before we married. After being married for 3 years, we are starting to discuss this and feeling like we want to be parents.
I'm 27, never had any kids and had the Tubal done due to health risks. I would have to have a C-section, but I'm allergic to anesthesia and had over 18 surgeries already. (that's the reason for the tubal)
I have a few questions that I would like personal insight on. I'm going to have a deeper conversation with my doctor as well, but we are going to wait a while before exploring our options.
First: Have you heard any success stories with Tubal Ligation Reversals.?
Second: If you or know someone who had one, did their health insurance cover it.?
Third: Is there a test, like an ultrasound, they can do to determine if the tubes healed themselves and fused back together.?

Well to be honest, its usually faint hope. It does and can work, but for most people it really doesn't work well. Its really rather permanent. Insurance rarely if ever covers it.
They can test with ultrasound - but the real test is getting pregnant. Things can look great and you can still go years without a pregnancy. Or, things can look bad and you get pregnant right away.
Having just been cut is a help, but its been a long time - if you haven't been using other birth control, and they had healed themselves, you would already be pregnant.
