Question: I am going through the menopause and am finding sex.?

How much foreplay are you doing.? "Pre-heating the oven" is always a good idea before you stick the pizza in. If you are already doing that, try a lube that is made for sex, like KY jelly, astro-glide, or my favorite, liquid silk.Health Question & Answer
This is because your natural 'juices' for want of a better word decrease during your menopause this is very common problem for a lot of woman in your situation, continuing to be sexually active is good because it will help keep you fit and toned down there (pelvic floor exercises will help you later on as well) there are many options you can ask your gp for help, i believe you can get a sipository that helps (i think you put it in before hand) an alternative is a ky jelly of somesort this should be a lot more helpful then vasaline, try looking at menopause websites and books there is a lot of advice about, try your well woman clinic.Health Question & Answer

IF this situation continues, you may need to see a gynecologist. As embarrassing as it might seem at first, he or she will be able to help resolve this issue with you. Additionally, vaseline is a horrible product to use internally, it will entirely dry you out. Try KY or astroglide (or whatever other lubricant is available in the UK). That should make things a bit better for you both.Health Question & Answer
Why don't you try K-Y jelly.? Dryness can we a problem during menopause due to the decrease in oestrogen levels. Ask your GP about vaginal oestrogen preparations that can be applied. Creams can be administered via applicators, waxy pessaries, small tablets inserted with an applicator or a vaginal ring which stays in place for 3 months at a time. Have a chat with your GP
