Question: What is a miscarriage, how would someone know if they had one.?

A friend of mine had one. She did not know that she was pregnant. But... she called me one morning in pain, crying (and this girl never cries). She said it felt like she was having very bad cramps in her lower stomach, and she was bleeding heavily. She went to the ER, they did blood work, found out she was pregnant, and a couple hours later she said she passed a clot about the size of a ping pong ball. A miscarriage is when a woman that is pregnant loses the baby. It can happen anywhere from a couple days after conception until delivery. If the baby is born dead then its call a stillborn, not a miscarriage.

depending on what stage you are in the pregnancy, you would find out in different ways.
if you were far on in your pregnancy, you would go for a routine scan and be told that the babys heart and stopped beating.
if you were early on, you may just experience cramps and heavy bleeding like a heavy period.some women who are only 1 or 2 months pregnant, dont even know they are pregnant when they miscarry.
