Actually what i think, masturbation is actually freely acting. People sometimes will have the urge or have the feeling to do it at a certain time.
About the testosterone thing, my mum says it boost people's "Horny-ness". So i think it is what caused your urge.
Your inappropriate location, what location would you be referring to.? What i think that masturbation should be a very VERY personal stuff. and should be done alone or discreetly. Doing it in public places might be quite "wrong" as it is your PRIVACY in doing those stuffs.

I don't think there is any innate rhyme or reason to most people's sex drive except the urges related to our fertility. We need to be mature about things so we don't get in trouble for time and place type issues or just out of control and don't get anything done. woohoo!
