I'm 50. Is period or bleeding?!

Question: I'm 50. Is period or bleeding.?
I'm 50. I think my period has stopped for nearly a year. Last month the doctor put me on blood thinner. Now I got period. I have a lower abdomen pain as well like period pain. I don't know is it a period or a bleeding.? How do you tell it is a period or bleeding.? I can't afford to have any bleeding because the doctors said I soon will become anemia. At the moment my Heamoglobin is 131.Health Question & Answer

hi pika, if you haven't had your period in a year you are considered menopausal. You need to have a pelvic ultrasound and if your endometrium is thickened you need to have an endometrial biopsy. It's better to be safe.Health Question & Answer

You need to contact your doctor ASAP. If there is a bleeding issue due to the medication, you could be in big trouble. If it's nothing to do with the meds, and you really had gone a year without a period you could be in big trouble again. ANY bleeding or discharge in general, after menopause, is the classic sign of cancer. It could be so many things given your age, and starting a new medicine..... Please at least give them a call and see what they say you should do.Health Question & Answer
