Did you bleed afterwards.? How much.? And how long did it last for.?

Its very normal. You dont even bleed each time - but usually a bit of spotting happens. Its cause by irritation to the cervix by the tool they use to take the sample and is totally harmless.Health Question & Answer
Yes, I tend to bleed a little for a day or so. It's called spotting and quite common for most women. Not all women bleed after having one, but some do. I still do after having mine once a year. Health Question & Answer

I agree with Jasmith..some women never spot, others do..The Dr. uses a very small brush that looks like a bottle brush, it is the brush that causes the spotting..Health Question & Answer
I've never heard of that. I've had a pap smear before, you get it at your yearly exam...but I've never bled. Health Question & Answer
