im wearing one right now. i am 14 i was SO scared to try it, and the first few times i did it i hated it. But i got used to it after the 3rd time and now i love them. honestly, i love them. You cant feel it after 1 few minutes once you put it in. It might hurt to put it in but not bad at all.
just try it hun. youll be alright.
but for you question. thats maybe, it depends.

no you dont have to , its just preference.
it doesnt hurt if your doing it right either, so just make sure you know what your doing. i admit it was a bit painful for me the first time because i didnt know what i was doing but now im fine with them and i wonder how they ever hurt in the first place.
so just try them out and you will probably get the hang of it in no time. :)

i would say you should lose your virginity first. when i was like 13 i used one and yes it did hurt, but it was b/c i wasn't use to anything bing in there, so to say. i am still a virgin and i'm 17 and i have vowed not to ever use a tampon again till i lose my virginity. i would say try it first before you make your choice to never use it because we are all different. i heard they have ones out there that are specally made for teensHealth Question & Answer
no, but it is MUCH better then pads. if you put it in right, it won't hurt. but it takes practice to get them in right. ask your mom to help you, but if SHE puts it in you, it might hurt because she doesn't know the inside of your body.Health Question & Answer
No you can use pads . but pads are gross to look at. tampons dont hurt . you will know when yhey hurt and that means you have it in wrong.

You don't HAVE to, but if you ever want to swim on your period, then yeah you need to use them. It doesn't hurt to put them in usually. It may be a strange new feeling, though. Health Question & Answer
