Why does my work overwork me like some slave? ?!
Question: Why does my work overwork me like some slave.? .?
I currently work as a dishwasher at a bakery. I am forced to work 6 hours in a row before i can go for lunch. I work 8 hour shifts. 5 days a week. They only give me one break. which is a 30 min break. I am told to take the full 30 mins. I am the only dishwasher during 7 hours and then another one comes on my last hour of my shift. I get treated unfairly and they force me to do chores that don't relate to dishwashing (sweeping floors, taking garbage/recylcing out) I only get paid breaks if I stay on the work premises. If I go off property I don't get paid. I'm told sign off on the computer if I go off property. I think that's not right! Health Question & Answer

i am with you. it seems like you are a hard worker, and thats a good thing. but take some stress off. what i would do is look for some other job so you could take some stress away. you could look for a job that offers something better. and they overwork you because (sorry to say) they want the money you make, not you. you should live a good life, so make a change!Health Question & Answer
I am a former dishwasher as well. I kind of think sweeping floors and garbage/recycling kind of goes with the territory.

they do it cuz they know you will do it. i'm in kinda the same boat. i'm in sales and work for 8+ hours with no set breaks or lucnh. the only "free" time i get is between stops and i only have a 5 hour window to make my "stops". but they always have an answer to me, cuz i'm a commisioned sales person so they say they dont have to give me breaks or a lucnh.Health Question & Answer

2. You will ALWAYS be asked to do things outside your jobs description. I don't care what kind of job it is.Health Question & Answer
