I have one and my friend did at the same time. I have had no problems but my friend had a similar problem to you. Get it taken out and try alternatives such as the injection, pill or coil. You have to find what is right for you. I had tried other methods before finding that the implant works well for me. Health Question & Answer

Hi honey, I had the implanon implant in for a year (had it removed last week). As implanon is a progesterone only contraceptive it does not regulate your periods like the combined pill, so some women have no bleed, some bleed all the time, some bleed sporadically, or if you are like me you will bleed every 2 weeks without fail!Health Question & Answer

Hey there - I think that seeing as you have had it in for so long you should have it removed and try the contraceptive pill.

For me the implant is perfect - I have had it in for over 9months now and do not have periods - I love it - saves so much money no having to buy towels and tampons every month.

My periods were all over the place on the pill but, this may work for you - everyone is different. Health Question & Answer

I had mine put in about 4 weeks ago. I was at the end of my period at the time of insertation. I came off for 1 week and am now back on my period for the past 3 weeks. I am thinking about having it taken out, I cant put up with the constant bleeding for much longer. I am not having period pains with it, just the bleeding. I couldnt of put up with it for 2 years like you though. I would seriously consider having it taken out if I were you!Health Question & Answer

I do and my periods are all buggered up because of it too. If they drag out for say 2-3 weeks or more then I usually get my dr to prescribe me some Norestherone(sp.?) Maybe go and have a chat with your doctor to see what they say and talk about some other alternatives.?Health Question & Answer

like has been said it does vary from woman to woman i think if you have been on for the 2yrs this is not for you as should look at a different form of contraception. i had it but then had it taken out for similar reasons.Health Question & Answer

I know exactly what your problem is as my wife had the Implanon in from 2005-2008. However as i am male and it is a female only question, i won't answer.Health Question & Answer
