So my doctor finally prescribed me phetermine and it says on the bottle to take 1/2 tablet by mouth everyday so what does it mean do i have to cut it in half.? and if i do the tablets are small im scared i might do it wrong is there a pill cutter and if there is where can i buy it.?Health Question & Answer

I just did it and there appears none. But you should do it yourself, also you can check them against other things, including foods and beverages.
I don't really like having to cut pills myself. You could probably also check on the web if a pill half the strength you were prescribed might be available in a dose your doc prescribed for daily use. Or just call him direct. This medicine is a powerful weight loss drug which can cause cardiac side effects (some serious).
Honestly, few young people will have serious reactions.
My biggest compliant about the medicine.?
I have never (not even ONCE) had a patient lose weight using this and keep the weight off.
The FDA limits you to 5 or 6 weeks MAX on the medicine.
You WILL lose weight.
But as soon as the medicine is gone - the weight WILL return (and a few extra pounds as well).
It is very frustrating.
And 100% of my patients who demand this medicine say, "I just need some motivation to get my weight loss started."
Great idea...it has just never worked.
You can get a pill splitter for just a few dollars at any drug store...ask the pharmacist (usually they are near the pharmacy).
And yes, it is OK to take ibuprofen with this medicine.

Should be safe....otherwise it would say in the pamphlet that comes with it or your dr would have told u. U can buya pill cutter at walmart in the section that sells all the ibuprofen and what not. Or at a pharmacy store like CVS or u can just use a little knife and slice it. Easier than it looks.Health Question & Answer
first, there is no way u should be taking phetermine, i took this when my doctor put me on birth control pills, it made me lose weight, but also speeded up my heart rate, u might want to rethink on taking that drug!Health Question & Answer
