NO! smear test isnt a bad thing..its GOOD to know you're clan. and just because you've had the cervical cancer shot does NOT mean you arn't at risk for getting other stds..even cervical cancer isn't 100% blocked by the shot. my sister had all three shots and still got a mild case of it. so continue getting rutine check ups. its way better to be safe then sorry. i know its awkward..but trust me, its better then having an std.Health Question & Answer

Unless you're sexually active, you won't need a pap test until you are at least 18, and should go regularly by the time you turn 21.

However, the HPV shot, Gardisil, only protects from a few strains of HPV, and HPV is not the only thing that can cause cervical cancer, thus is it still essential that you go for a yearly check-up, even if you got the Gardisil shot. Health Question & Answer

I am assuming your referring to a pap smear. It is very important to get a pap annually. Don't let it worry you, its a pretty simple procedure.Health Question & Answer

Are you talking about a pap smear, regardless you are supposed to get one every year....Health Question & Answer

That only covers a small number of cervical cancers caused by viruses. You will still need to get a pap every year to check for other stuff.
