Question: Has anyone ever heard of a bacteria infection getting into the uterus.? If so what can cause it besides STD's. .?
My doctor told me that my miscarriage was a resutl of bacteria infection in the outer fluid of the uterus. He said that usually it is only caused by invasive procedures. I had none. So I was just wondering if anybody knew anything about this subject. Health Question & Answer

Hi Tiffany... do you remember which was the bacteria that you had.? Was it Strept. Group B.? I had that, but the doctors told me that this had nothing to do with my miscarriage at 18 weeks... Strep Group B become dangerous only in the third semester because of the risk for the baby to catch it (sometimes Cesareans are done to avoid the baby from catching it).... around 1 in three women have Strept Group B... it is quite normal... My guess would be that maybe you had an infection that was not treated and perhaps it worked itself up to your cervix and into your uterus.Health Question & Answer
