The first few times yes, it will hurt but if you relax and read the instructions and look at the diagram you'll be fine. They are really easy to use and are %100 more comfortable than pads. Just place it in the hole between the lips that surround your vagina and push the applicator so until it is touching your vagina.

Then take the applicator out (you can get the paper applicators or the plastic ones, I recommnend the plastic ones for first-timers but once you get used to it you will be able to use either kind easily) and if you see a string hanging down and it feels comfrtable then you have done it right. Do not leave the cardboard or plastic applicator inside your vagina! The applicator is there so that you can push the tampon inside of you, it should be thrown away with the wrapper of the tampon afterwards.

Good Luck! You will learn to love tampons :)Health Question & Answer

To know which hole to put it in, look in the insert/instructions included in the tampon. The one closest to the front, which I think of as the first, is for urine, and it's way too small. The next is the opening to the vagina, and that's the correct one. The one nearest the back is the anus, that's for the poop. Don't put it there. :-)

Sometimes it's a little uncomfortable, but it really shouldn't hurt. If it's hurting, you probably shouldn't continue. If you are determined to use them anyway, see if you can get some advice from your mother, aunt, older sister, someone like that.

One thing to remember is that it's very important to be relaxed. If you find that it hurts too much, you should try putting your finger in when you are in the shower or bath. Your finger is softer and won't hurt as much. If you can't get your finger all the way in, you won't be able to get a tampon inHealth Question & Answer

It should not hurt unless your hymen is intact and is unusually closed over which is rare. It is best to practice while on your period so it will be more wet and easier to slide in. You can always buy lubrication found next to the condoms if you want to try it when you are drier. Do not use vaseline.

It might feel weird and be a bit uncomfortable for a bit but no, it should not hurt. Every package has instructions, just follow them.Health Question & Answer

No, it doesn't hurt to put it in, but don't rush to get it out. When it's expanded and dry, it could require too much pulling to remove. Let it get good and soaked, it will be much easier to remove. You'll know the right hole. You anus where the poop comes out is too far back and you know what it feels like. The hole right in front of it is where it goes. You couldn't get it in your urethra (your pee hole in front) if you wanted to.Health Question & Answer

It can hurt for the first time and possibly the next couple of times. When I first started my period I tried using a tampon but it hurt too much and felt uncomfortable inside. I had to slowly transition into using them ( start with the lighter tampons and you can even apply some lubrication to the plastic applicant to help ease the tampon in for the first time). What your feeling is normal. Health Question & Answer

well... yeah it does hurt. it hurts the first 3 or 4 times.

your uterus can tip upwards, go straight back, or tip downwards.

so you need to figure out how it slants (mine goes down).

after you figure it out, it will be a lot more comfortable.

oh and from personal experience, use playtex sport.

they feel soooo much better than tampax pearl. Health Question & Answer

Dont do it when you are not having your period. My daughter wanted to do that! The blood flow at the start of the period should make it easier for the tampon to slide in. Try getting Tampax with the applicator for the first time, until you know what you are doing.Health Question & Answer

If it hurts, you're doing it wrong. Trust me, for the first week I kept putting it in crooked and I thought it was SUPPOSED to hurt. :) No, a little weird feeling, but it won't hurt if you put it in slightly angled towards your body.Health Question & Answer

Inserting a tampon shouldnt hurt. If it hurts for the first time that is usually normal. It shouldnt hurt after you have been doing it for awhile. you shouldnt even be able to feel the tampon. Health Question & Answer

____GOOD LUCK&DONT WORRY U"LL BE FINE!!!!Health Question & Answer

If you do it right, it shouldn't hurt too much.
When first inserting it, your hymen may need to stretch which can sometimes hurt.
It's the last hole. Health Question & Answer

It is correct if you insert it in the 1st hole after where the pee comes out. For the 1st time it will hurt don't worry you will adapt to it soon!Health Question & Answer
