it takes a while to get accustomed to it so it may hurt the first few times... He probably just has a bigger piece of equipment and as such keeps knocking the cervix, hence the pain....

Are you sure its a cut or is it a tear.? Some women tear the first time of if they haven't had sex in a long time.

I would say he probably hit your cervix, which can either be painful or pleasurable, depending on approach. a hard jab hurts.
