I looked up statistics, 1% of teenage girls (in the US) suffer from anorexia.
And something like 38% of teenage girls are overweight.

I don't think people say that anorexia is so common among teenage girls, they say that of anorexic people, the vast majority are teenage girls. Which is true.
There are lots of girls with body issues, but true anorexia is a class of its own. It is not common. Health Question & Answer
