Is HSG test painful (which is done for blocked fallopian tubes).?!

Question: Is HSG test painful (which is done for blocked fallopian tubes)..?
Answers:
hi there, well i'm a veteran of 6 surgeries for chronic endometriosis and i have had this test done as well. if your tubes are blocked its usually more painful because that indicates a problem, but if they are clear its like having a bad menstral cramp and your lower back might hurt as if you just started your period. i had a surgery 2 weeks ago because i develope huge ovarian cysts and i got some bad news....i already knew they were having to take one ovary out but then they said the other one was diseased as well so next week they are giving me a hysterectomy. i'm 31 and i've never been pregnant and i guess i never will be.........but dont anticipate it too much even if you do have some blockage it will just feel more sensitive as to somoene whose tubes flush fine. i hope you get some good news! if you do have blockage sometimes depending on the severity they can remove some of it with surgery. just remember the more surgeries you have the more scar tissue you will develope and that can actually be more painful in the end. so dont let them do surgery after surgery. if you can take things like aleve or naproxen, or even a muscle relaxer it will help with swelling and spasms that may occur after the process is over. when you get home get in bed with a heating pad, chill, take a nap and you'll feel good as new the next day. i wish you all the best!Health Question & Answer
