Can this actually happen?!

Question: Can this actually happen.?
Can rough sex result in a yeast infection.? also, how do you treat one if you are sensitive to the OTC creams and suppositories.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Rough sex can cause a VI due to the change in the chemical makeup. The heat, friction, and lubrication can cause an unbalance in the yeast down there. If you can not take OTCs then take the AZO as directed. It is inexpensive and works well. Health Question & Answer

Yes. That happened to me once, along with getting yeast infections from multiple consecutive rounds of sex. Something about the irritation gave me the YI.

As for being sensitive to the OTC creams, talk to your doctor. They make a pill one dose called Diflucan, which I took, and it cleared the YI right up. No creams, no waits, no messes.Health Question & Answer

I would say Yes the friction could cause this to happen..I prefer Caneston cream for thrush as it does not burn like the monistat. Ask at your local chemist about which treatments they have. I even took the 1 day tablet once and it did nothing...waste of $...and it was not cheap either! You really need a cream to kill the thrush germ. Besides that other things you can do to help.... wash the area with cool water NO soap ever, avoid sugar and cola and yeasty foods, avoid tight pants, wear cotton undies.Health Question & Answer

no, a yeast infection is caused by a combination of things, mostly the moisture. rough sex can make it worse though. to treat it, try AZO. it works for most people but may take a few days.Health Question & Answer

Don't know about the rough sex part but there is an oral medication available by prescription that is given for yeast infections. Go see your doctor for proper diagnosis. Health Question & Answer
