Answers:
The cycle is that your period starts out at a light flow but in the middle of your menstrual cycle it gets heavy flows of blood usually for 1 or 2 days. After words it begins to slow down to what it started at, and then it slows yet again and completely stops.
Easier version:
Two-Three days normal flow > One-Two days heavy flow > One-Two days normal flow > One-Two days light flow. (Over night your menstrual cycle should slow down.)
It should all happen in five-seven days, and there should also be a break of 28 days before your next period. If the duration of your period lasts longer/ or is shorter than five to seven days, there may be a problem with your cycle and you should consult a doctor.Health Question & Answer

Seriously, though -
A menstrual cycle is the 28-day time frame (assuming it's regular) that the body goes through the reproductive stages.
The menstrual bleed starts on day 1 and ends around between days 5 and 7 (depending on the person). Around day 14 ovulation occurs. The woman is considered most likely to get pregnant between days 8 and 16 inclusive. After day 16 the egg dies and can no longer be fertilized. From day 26-28 the uterus contracts slightly to help shed the unused lining.Health Question & Answer
