hi guys, i have a problem! i went to the doctor yesterday and told him about my problem and he said i need to take a swab and come back on tuesday ( it was friday when i saw him ) . does he mean that he will take the swab on tuesday or that i should do it with like an ear bud or something. He didn't give me anything to swab with but he confused me by saying that he would need it done asap. Surely he would have explained how to do it to me if i was going to do it.?! what do you think!.? xHealth Question & Answer

No - he isn't expecting you to do it yourself. It has to be done with a sterile swab, which then needs to go to a lab so they can grow any bacteria on the swab. It may be that he didn't do it there and then because there was no female chaperone available at that time. Your doctor obviously thinks you can read his mind.Health Question & Answer
if its a pelvic swap, go see a nurse - you should have booked it when you left his room...it takes a while for them to work out the results, so you're cutting it a bit short if you havent had the swab done yet, and your appointments on tuesday!

The way it sounds to me may be construed two ways.
Swabbing will be done by the Doctor, So relax...anyway
1. Swab to be done Friday during exam come back on tuesday for lab results
