Question: How do periods work.?
Ok, i know that girls bleed or w/ and release their egg and uterus lining or something, but what happens. My girlfriend is on hers and i jsut dont know what goes on. Do u bleed constantly, just not a lot.? Or is it like, episodes of it. Whats w/ tampons and ****. maybe i sound like an idiot, but im a guy, i dont have to know this stuff.Health Question & Answer

Scientifically, a woman has her period when an unfertilised egg is released. Because it is unfertilised, the lining of the uterus is disposed of because it is not needed to protect what could be a fertilised egg.

the uterus lining breaks down when an egg has not attached to it. thats why when you re pregnant you dont have periods, because the fertlised egg attaches to it.
you bleed sort of randomly, which can feel weird!
some women can be heavy flow, some can be light flow. some have a lot of pain, some dont. some last longer than others. its just each woman.
tampons are inserted in to the vagins to soak up the blood - some women prefer them because you cant feel the blood leaking out of you, and you can go swimming in them. you just generally feel more comfortable and active.
