Question: Do you have a "relationship" with a doctor.? How frequently do you see your doctor.?
Lately I have been reading that you are supposed to develop a relationship with a doctor, like a GP.
What does that mean.? How often are you supposed to go.?
These doctors were talking like they knew their patients and saw them enough to remember them.?.?.?
What type of doctor do you have a relationship with.? That oversees your health needs.?
I see a shrink for my Bipolar meds, but the shrink does not do anything else but monitor my Lithium blood levels. So, I don't really consider that a "relationship" and I never answered any questions about my general health.?.?.?.?.?Health Question & Answer

Wow...um first off, any doctor who would prescribe or manage your medications without talking to you about any other area of your life is not good. Find someone who will talk to you.
It seems a lot harder these days to find a doctor who is willing to develop a relationship with their patients. I always feel like a paycheck when I walk in to talk to the doctor. When I was a kid, most of the doctors remembered my name, and we had certain doctors we trusted. Not so now. I go to the doctor, and I brace myself because I know she's going to be condescending. (Need a new GP.) But I think it would be different if I put in the time and energy to find someone who I really click with. And it would help TREMENDOUSLY if I could find a naturopathic doctor, because they tend to care for the whole person, not the symptoms. I'm so sick of the medical profession...here, take this pill, your symptom will go away temporarily, but the problem will come back as soon as your body/mind is used to the pill. Then we'll give you another stronger pill with more side effects. Blech. No thanks.Health Question & Answer
