Okay I always got fairly normal pms but for the past two periods that I have had I noticed that my pms has gotten a little bad. I can't stop crying and it takes me a while to stop or calm down. I get really angry and want everyone to stay away from me. I always end up snapping at someone . I am not normally like this then when it is over I am okay. I have a hard time sleeping at night too, Is it depression or just really bad pms .? I'm embarrassed to go the doctor I don't want to go on pills either please help asapHealth Question & Answer

Don't be embarassed. Depression happens to a LOT of people. Sometimes it's temporary, other times it's long-term. I seriously think you are experiencing depression. You sound a lot like me before I was diagnosed.

The key to getting better is understanding that depression doesn't make you less of a person. It's a real medical condition that effects your brain and the way you perceive things. (Glass half full or half empty is a good comparision.)

Please see your doctor. Tell him/her what you are feeling and when you are feeling that way. The Dr will probably ask you a few questions and either prescribe meds or refer you to another Dr for a more extensive evaluation. If the Dr prescribes meds, take them every day. The meds won't work immediately and can take up to 3-4 weeks until they reach their full effect.

Good luck. Health Question & Answer

Just seems like pms but if you notice that you become so depressed that you feel suicidal or your pms starts to interfere with your relationships with people you should talk to your OBGYN about it. Could be PMDDHealth Question & Answer
