Do you think it is possible to lose 30 - 40 pounds within 6 - 7 months?!

Question: Do you think it is possible to lose 30 - 40 pounds within 6 - 7 months.?
I am getting married in May 09. I currently weigh around 230, and have always been a bigger girl. My fiance has always said that he loves me just the way I am, but I want to make a change for myself. I want so badly to look good on my wedding day, and long after that. I have started about 4 days ago eating smaller portions, cutting out sodas and sweets, drinking mostly water (and lots of it), and doing about 30 minutes of excersizing. I would ultimately love to lose way more than just the 30 or 40 pounds, probably around 70 total. Do you think it is possible for me to lose the 30-40 lbs in the 6 or 7 months I have left until my wedding if I stick to my newer eating habits and keep on exercising.?

If anyone has any success stories or any tips that worked for them, I would also greatly appreciate that. I find that reading success stories has been one of the biggest inspirations for me.

Thank you for your time!!Health Question & Answer

Hell yes you can!
I've lost 30 pounds in a 4 month period, and yeah, you can also do it too. 7 months its a wide nice frame. Can even lose more than that if you work hard.
The hardest part for me was giving up white sugar and white flour, but I was allowed to eat white rice which made it easier. See I am hypoglycemic, which means that I can never skip meals without my blood sugar dropping or my body going into survival mode. The six meals daily I had to eat back then grew to be a treat. But I managed.
And I added plenty of exercise too. At least an hour a day, even if it was just walking.
Just changing my eating habits did it for me. No more soda, plenty of water, no more sugar or flours. Whenever i needed a sweet treat I would get a carb blocker, or a fruit. Natural food works!

There are also lots forums and support groups on the internet if you ever need help. Congrats to you for taking care of yourself and best of lucks!

Yes! and congratulations on choosing a healthier (and prettier) lifestyle! My doctor put me on the South Beach Diet, I walked at least a mile a day and lost 30 pounds in 8 weeks. You are going in the right direction. You can buy his books and cookbooks and recipes are online. The one thing that I remember is "stay away from the white stuff". The philosophy is that flour, potatoes, sugar, rice make us crave more of it. It's true. Try it and you will look absolutely gorgeous on your wedding day. Hooray for you!Health Question & Answer

You can totally do it! If you are really serious about it, I would go to a dietician, and get meal plan, and also think about getting a trainer at a local gym...I know with me, these things helped since I was constantly tempted to eat badly, or not excersize. It helps, becuaes it makes you accountable to someone other than yourself. If you can't do or afford that, always remember...It really comes down to what you eat more than anything...you could workout all day long and not loose any weight if you aren't eating right. Congratulations on your wedding, and good luck!Health Question & Answer
