I get cramps really bad and diariah. What helps mine is avoiding dairy products and food high in fiber such as salads. I try and stick to carbs and protein. I know both of these is essential to health, but I cut back on them for the first 1 to 3 days of my period then add them back into my diet. also motrin or Midol helps a lot. Don't use blood thinner pain medicine such as aspirin. Taking a hot shower will relax you too along with using a hot pack on your stomach. If someone is around, get them to massage the area. That helps too! I have really irregular periods too. I try and judge when they come by my attitude change, sore breasts, sudden appetite change, and small cramps. As soon as I get the slightest cramp, I start taking motrin at least once a day. I don't like to take it more than that because sometimes it could be a week and a half or longer before my actually period starts. Health Question & Answer

i also get serious pain, in fact i am online answering questions to take my mind off the pain right now. nothing helps me at all medicine wise, but having some sympathetic friends is really encouraging and they always help me get through it. if none of the other suggestions work then tell someone you trust about the problems you have (if you want to tell teachers you can! i have done that before when they got really bad and they, the girls that is, were extremely sympathetic) im very sorry that you have all these problems but i totally sympathize! just remember if you have someone encouraging you that things will be okay it makes the world of difference. it doesnt make the symptoms easier but it makes dealing with them easier.Health Question & Answer

Here is what you do. The night before your cycle starts or at the very beginning of your cycle, have an ibuprofen and this will help immediately with cramping and will most likely reduce your flow by half throughout your cycle.

Learn when you ovulate so you can predict exactly when your next cycle will start. Always circle the first day of your cycle on your calendar.

This is all caused by water in the bowels. Pepto Bismol might help. There are also stronger diarrhea medications.

Midol is a Tylenol and a cup of coffee (50mg caffeine). It works by making you PEE a lot, eliminating water so it doesn't accumulate in your bowels. But it's basically a big shot of caffeine, so make your own judgement about whether you think it will help.Health Question & Answer
