Do you mean the period itself, or putting in/taking out tampons.? If you mean the period, then yah, get used to some discomfort. It's like a muscle cramp in your abdomen. But the healthier you are... and if you swim and you're young then I'm guessing you're pretty healthy, the better off you're likely to be in that area. If you meant the tampons, then it might take a little while getting used to the idea of putting stuff in such a private area, but once you get good at it, you really won't even notice it's there. Okay, I have to be honest, but the first time I used a tampon it hurt sooo bad and it made me sooo sick! I almost threw up and nearly passed out. I had to lay down on the bathroom floor. It took me over a half hour to get that dang thing in!!
The clue is to get the smallest size first to start with and it even helps to get KY Jelly and put just a tiny bit on the tip of the tampon.
Put one foot on the tub or toilet, and make sure you relax ALL your muscles inside and out to get it in.
It takes a few times to get used to it, honestly, but I do choose tampons over dirty pads any day!!

im 11 two weeks until im 12 but my mom had it when she was 11 so im always asking questions too but what ive heard it hurts the first couple of times then you get use to it but you should wear pads the first couple of times to get use to the blood process well pretty much the whole thing then move on too tampons make sure to get the smaller ones first until you grow a little bit i hope i helped :]Health Question & Answer

if you live in a hot climate and you are going swimming this weekend then go swimming. Don't put the whole thing in you like I did. When You put the plastic application in you push the tampon and take the plastic away and throw way. It doesn't hurt when cotton inside you.Health Question & Answer

How about u just wear Pads. I dont mess with tampons, if they stay in there too long you can get a condition called Toxic shock. So stick with the pads. Try the long pads with wings those work great for periods.Health Question & Answer
