I have started everything in puberty and i wear a bra.i have heaps of discharge and i think im going to start soon. i also have a little bit of pubic hair, and im really panicked that my periods are going to hurt. sometimes i get cramp in my belly, and i have chest pain to.

hey my name is ashley and i am 16 years old and i started my period when i was twelve. i was scared out of my mind to get mine and i never wanted to talk about it. i thought it was the grosssest thing in the world. so then i got it one day and i didnt freak out. just tell your mom. shell help u through it. dont worry it dosent hurt at all. trust me. you may start soon but i would take this advice and carry a pad or a tampon with u incase u do get it and then that way if u are out or at school u will be prepared and then youll know what to do. for me anyways now that i have had minw for afew years its no biggie. if u live with ur mom or have a sister it will be easier. and the cramps and aches are NORMAL and they will go away. i use teen midol and it works great. just dont worry about it its the last thing you want to do. Maybe soon, but i cant be sure, it could be growing pains. Its different for everyone, I started in august, and one girl in my form started at 11. Periods dont usually hurt, but you may get a few little pains, usually curable by paracetamols and hot water bottles. sometimes you have discharge for 1- 2 years. i had it for about 2. sometimes before your period, you may get really big cramps and thats a big sign. you should be having it soon cause it seems like you have all the symptoms...it depends!

By the sound of things you will begin soon, don't panic and go and buy yourself some tampons/towls or if you don't want to buy them nick a few of your mothers ;) Just dont panic!! Its perfectlly normal and will become a routine soon enough.Health Question & Answer
