Nuva Ring Re-use? Is it possible?!
Question: Nuva Ring Re-use.? Is it possible.?
Is it possible to re-use the ring.? My insurance does not cover it and i was wondering if I rinsed it off and put it back in the foil pack for the week of non use then re insert the same one, will i get the same dose.? I may be the only person that thought of this but I need to cut corners, and this was just a thought, don't know if its possible. Im using the ring for my estrogen treatment, I have premature ovarian failure, so this was my convenient choice. Any help.?Health Question & Answer

Technically, you get 4 weeks of hormones from the Nuva Ring. So, if you wanted to get another week's use out of the ring, go ahead and try it, but keep it in for four weeks, and then take the ring out. I wouldn't suggest just putting it back in the foil packet.
If you're looking for a more convenient way of getting a hormone similar to Nuva Ring, you could try the Depo shot. It's a progestin only shot, but if that's the hormone you need from Nuva Ring, then by all means go for it. It's once every three months, and while you have to go to the doctor, it's a five minute visit.

I know it might be the most convenient , but I don't see it being what is best for you. No, I would not recommend that you do that, and you will not get the same dose. I can understand that it can be expensive, but you need to take care of you, and your health.Health Question & Answer
