Question: Going to gyno tomorrow for irregular peroids and pelvic pain.?
I am going to the gyno tomorrow for pelvic pain I've had off and on for 4 years, and irregular peroids with spotting, does anyone have any suggestion on what I will have to do tomorrow.? Will they have to look at me down there.? Or will they just use a sonagram and look through that.? I just hate getting checked down there, and was wonderng if anyone has been through the same thing.?Health Question & Answer

Prepare for a pelvic exam, pap smear and maybe more depending on what your doc thinks is necessary. Due to fertility issues and being pregnant with 2 babies, I will tell you that you should ask for a plastic speculum. They're actually "more comfortable" that the metal ones. Try not to focus too much on what they're doing. Feel free to talk or hum, sing. Anything to take your mind off the procedure. Best wishes!Health Question & Answer
The doctor will do an exam and talk to you about your symptoms. One thing that is really important to do, is to write down a calender of what happens, spotting, periods, pain, where the pain is, etc. That way the doctor can't blow you off and say it's nothing. It is the best thing always to keep track yourself. You probably haven't done this, but start. Don't expect one visit to the doctor to fix this right away.

ive never been checked down there before, but just tell them all your symptoms and theyll figure it out; i went a few years ago and i was put on some pills that brought your period, kinda like plan b pills but not....? i didnt like iit though.. i dont really remember what all happened to that to be honest.
idk. but now im on yaz and they never checked me. i told thme i had bad cramps, missed months at a time, never knew when it was coming and i wanted it. she did the prescription and i been straight with it for 8 months now.Health Question & Answer

I have not been through the same thing, but they will more than likely have to look "down there." They may do a sonogram also, but the best thing for them to do would be to do a pelvic exam.

they will ask you questions, feel around your stomach (outside with hands)....sounds like it might be cysts that are causing this which sometimes docs can feel with their hands. If not they might sent you for an ultrasound for your ovaries...not as bad as a pap...=)Health Question & Answer
