Since you're in college, tell him. Simply tell him you started your period today and that you get incredibly bad cramps that leave you bedridden.

also, go to your gyno and get a doctors note. He may be also able to help you. Quite a few of my friends would get awful cramps all through their periods, and their doctors put them on the pill, and it helped them a lot. Their periods were lighter, shorter, and less painful. Its different for everyone, but your doctor may have an option for you.Health Question & Answer

Have you tried some pain killers, also have a hot water bottle on your stomach to ease the pain. Tell the your teacher that you have "lady troubles" or something. Obs you have to go and can't let your periods get in the way. also for the future go to your doctor and tell them whats up and get prescribed strong pain killer =] Hope that helps...Good luck anyway!Health Question & Answer

My suggestion would be to tell him in private why you're missing class today, and tell him you're going to talk to your doctor about the problem. That way he knows that you're telling the truth and that you're trying to help with the pain.

Your doctor should be able to help you with your painful periods. Good luck!Health Question & Answer

If attendance is mandatory and he doesn't give excuses for missing due to illness, you're out of luck. If he lets you off for being sick than just tell him you were sick and he doesn't need the details.

If your cramps are that bad, you should really see a doctor. I went on birth control long before I became sexually active for the relief from killer cramps.Health Question & Answer

You're an adult, he's an adult, and hopefully if you call or email him and explain the problem he'll be understanding enough to let you slide...THIS time.

You should talk to your doctor. Period cramps so severe they immobilize you are NOT normal.Health Question & Answer

Wow, this is a tough one. I would try and explaining it to him. He's an adult, and shouldn't think any less of you, or your condition. I would assume he would still lower your grade, since it is mandatory. I would suggest that you look into getting some BC to help with the cramps.Health Question & Answer

Take some painkillers and go to class.
They don't care about that in college. They don't care if you're in the hospital. You're either in class, or you're not.
So suck it up and go.Health Question & Answer
