Getting The Implanon Implant?!
Question: Getting The Implanon Implant.?
I'm 19 & I've been on the pill for almost 5 years. I was on Levlen up until about 6 months ago, then my Dr put me on Trifeme - which I didn't like so I was put back on Levlen about 6 weeks ago but I oddly developed an allergic reaction to it.
I've stopped taking my pill like the instructions say if you have a reaction & I'm going to the Dr tomorrow.
My fiance mum & sister think maybe I should consider going on Implanon.
What should I expect.? Whats it like to be on it.? Does it hurt to get it put in & after its in.?
Anything to know.?Health Question & Answer

People have many different reactions to the implant but, for me it is FANTASTIC.
I was on many different pills - all screwed up my cycle and generally made me feel awful. My sister developed an allergic reaction to a certain type so my doc suggested that I didn't try it.
My sister had her implant put in about 6 months before me. One day I was so fed up with bleeding for 3 weeks straight whilst trying the pill that I just went in to my local family planning clinic (with my sis to hold my hand) and had it done.
The thing that hurts the most is the local anaesthetic - it stings like a bit@h for about 10 seconds. The implant itself is the size of a hair grip so the needle is quite large - Don't look at it and you wont feel anything but a little pressure in your arm.
I am a class A wimp - they bandaged my arm and told me to leave it for 24 hours. You would have thought I had broken it - I held it in a sling-position for 4 days (even though there was no pain) just because I knew it was there - what an idiot.?!
You will bruise a little bit and its strange because when you poke it you can feel it - a great party piece. My mates call it my Alien Implant and made this story up that it beeps when i'm horny.
Anyway - had it in for over 9 months now - and not had a single period! No hormone-related emotional outbursts - its brilliant!!! Just not thinking about the day it has to be removed...Health Question & Answer

www.implanon-usa.com is a great website that explains this procedure. the implant last for 3 yrs. All women are different when it comes to certain implants. Some can tolerate it, while others can't. You won't know until you try it. Try this website, I know you feel more comfortable with the knowledge from this report. It's really good.
Edit, I love Miss H comment. So honest about herself. Well she should know, she had it done. She has my vote.Health Question & Answer
