Question: Is there a way to temporarily stop your period.?
I'm a 21 year old female and i would like to know if there is any way to temporarily stop my period without it causing harm to my body or messing up my cycle.
I'm planning to go away for the holiday and because i get my periods really really bad, i was wondering if there was a way to stop it while i'm away. I'm not on the pill or anything and i've heard that taking one of the pills can stop it for a while.?

if you're on BC, skip the reminder pills. I talked to my doctor about this and she says it's ok to do as long as it is not often and only one month at a time.Health Question & Answer
If you take the pill all month, you will stop your period. There is no medical reason that you could not take the pill for three weeks from one pack, then move to a new pack immediately without take the week of dummy pills which is the week you would typically have your period.Health Question & Answer
I don't think there is any possible ways to temporarily stop you period from coming because it's just a natural body reaction but the only closes thing is that there are some birth control that either shorten your period or stops for a certain time. Get some birth control pills and take them. If you don't "stop" your period all the time and only do it a few here and there then it will be fine and not hurt you. I have done it before when going on trips.Health Question & Answer
