Besides going to the doctor. I don't have one yet and I really rather just not....

My OB said that you can get a plain yogurt and coat a tampon with it. Insert the tampon (there are bacteria in the yogurt that help prevent and treat yeast infections). Leave the tampon in for a minute and remove. It sounds messy, but my OB swears by it. (I don't have health insurance so she tries to save me money when it comes to meds.)Health Question & Answer
There's an over the counter test now a days that will detect a yeast infection from a bacterial infection, you can get a test at your pharmacy.
Many women confuse the symptoms of a yeast infection with bacterial vaginosis. You can also use an over the counter medication such as monistat, but if your symptoms don't improve you could possibly have something else. Have you had a yeast infection before.? If you have and you're pretty sure it's a yeast infection try the over the counter medication.

There are plenty of over-the-counter yeast infection treatments (e.g. Monistat). Essentially, it's a cream or cream capsule + applicator, and you insert the medicine inside of you at bedtime.
