Nausea and fainting with birth control pills?!

Question: Nausea and fainting with birth control pills.?
Is there any way to lessen the nausea I'm getting because of these pills.?

Don't say to get a lower dose pill, I'm pretty much on the lowest available. I haven't been on the pill long, I just started taking it a few days ago, but the nausea I woke up to last night was possibly the worst I've ever felt.

I woke up about 4 hours after taking my third pill and immediately had to run to the bathroom to vomit. After that, I spent another 4 hours laying in the bathroom floor whining. I had a horrid headache and I actually fainted once.

I've already called my doctor and she basically just told me to deal with it for a month or so before calling in again. Anything I can take for the nausea.? I've still got some Phenergan left over from when I had a stomach flu...Health Question & Answer

Wow that sounds pretty severe for birth control! If it gets worse I would say contact your doctor again and get it checked out! Otherwise, the doc was right-if you wait about a month or two it should go away. In the meantime- try taking some tums every few hours. If that doesn't work you could try an antacid pill. also, make sure you are taking you pill at NIGHT instead of in the morning!! A doctor once told me taking it at night helps with the nausea. I have always taken mine at night and never had a problem. Hope this helps :)Health Question & Answer

Make sure you take the pill at the same time every night and just before bed. This way you will have 6 -8 hrs for it to wear off.You may also want to get some B-6 vitamins and take one with it. If you can, sip mint tea first thing in the morning. Been there and it is no fun.

Good luck!Health Question & Answer

It isn't just about the size of the dose.
There are hundreds of different contraceptive pills, and the ingrediants differ, go see you GP explain they don't agree with you and ask for a different one.
You don't have to take no for an answer.
