Question: PLeAsE HeLp!!! Personal!! gIrLz OnLy!!.?
I have an open sore that i think might have gotten from shaving. It seems to have gotten bigger but I'm not sure if it means that I have an std or just a cut that may have gotten infected from shaving. Health Question & Answer

I know I might not be a girl, but my answers still relevant. If you received a nick will shaving, you would know it. The area would bleed after shaving off some skin. If the cut is infected, the area will be a bright red and most likely warm to the touch. Now know knowing your sexual activity; if you are sexually activities with many different men, there is a chance you may have one of the following: Chancroid or Genital Herpes. If you are monogamous with one partner and her/she is also monogamous, than the chances that the sore is a STD is very slim. Treat you wound with some hypo-allergenic soap two times a day and wear a band-aid over the wound with healing ointment. If you workout or sweat a bit, clean wound afterward and proceed with ointment and a band-aid. -Dr. WHealth Question & Answer

I agree with response #1: wash with soap and water, dry thoroughly. If you think it's infected, DON'T use Neosporin on it (the petroleum in creams/gels traps heat in and can exacerbate the infection). DON'T use a Band-Aid: the adhesive may irritate your delicate tissue.

I would try a WARM COMPRESS on the area. Putting a warm compress on any mild infection (ingrown hair, pimple, etc.) will bring the blood to the surface and help get rid of the infection. Simply take a wash cloth, put it under the warm tap water, and squeeze out excess water. Put the compress on for as long as it stays warm, and repeat for about 10 minutes or so a few times a day.

If it doesn't heal or continues to be irritated, see your doctor.Health Question & Answer

It could be an ingrown hair, which is kinda like a pimple, or you could have gotten an infection. Go to your doctor, or, if you dont feel comfortable, just go to the drugstore and look in the douching/tampons aisle.

IT could *possibly* be an STD, so, if none of the above work, go to your doctor IMEDIATLY!Health Question & Answer

wash it out with soap and water, but some disinfecting cream or spray on it and put a band aid over it for a bit. Air it out at night.

If it is really that bad then head on over to the doctors.
