Stupid question about tampons?!

Question: Stupid question about tampons.?
I feel really stupid having to ask this.. but when you go pee and have a tampon in, are you supposed to remove it first.? I know the tampon is in the vagina and your urine comes out your urethra, but I am not sure if my tampon will fill up with pee if I pee with it in. Forgive me for asking such a stupid question!Health Question & Answer

Answers:
You don't need to remove your tampon and a tampon will not fill up with urine. If you use commercial or organic tampons then these have strings, if you do not move the string out of the way then this will get wet with urine, but the tampon will still not get wet from urine. Urine on the string isn't a huge problem it is just a bit uncomfortable once you get off the toilet and the cold wet tampon string is held against your vulva in your underwear. Urine is sterile when it leaves your body, so it is not a health risk, it's just best to avoid being wet as if your vulva is wet it makes a good environment for bacterial growth so dry off the tampon strings
