I Have A Medical Mystery? ?!

Question: I Have A Medical Mystery.? .?
Ok so here's the problem I will be getting ready to go to bed then I'll start scratching then a few mins later my whole body will be red and REALLY itchy. So about an hour later I will fall asleep I'll wake up again and start the process again. The next morning I will be fine and there are no marks or bumps. Now this problem happens randomly but it only happens at night. It bothered me but I could handle it until last night. I started to scratch at 9 and stopped scratching at around 2. But this morning I woke up with my body all red and still scratching! my mom and I don't think its a food Allergy cause the only thing i've eaten was soup and that was about 23 hours ago. It couldn't have been my clothes cause everything I was wearing was brand new, from different stores, and a different material. I can't go to the American hospital (we live in germany) its closed. But I don't want my mom to have to drive me to the german hospital (Shes stressed out and VERY busy). So I was wondering if anyone knew what was wrong with me and if there are some home remedies I could use to make the itching go away. Thanks!Health Question & Answer

If you are not going to the doctor you should at least call the TRICARE nurse-advise help line & your PCM should be contacted so you can get some allergy tests done.

This could be stress, but it could also be food or environmental allergies.

You might try sleeping in different parts of the house to see if this helps. You might also try a non-sedating antihistamine 1-2 hours before bedtime.

Start keeping a food diary & when your outbreaks occur.

Is your house overly dry.? Try putting a water pan on top of your radiator.

If your house is not dusted, swept or vacumed daily YOUR FAMILY should start doing this while you are out of the house.

Take the carpet out of your room & switch to a non-allergenic pillow.

And don't forget to give your Mom a hug.

Hope you feel better.

Wow!! This same thing happens to my daughter!! I looked it up and stress is one reason it could happen; once you are settled in your bed for the night your body releases something due to all the stress you are carrying, which then makes you itch. I gave my daughter Benadryl, which helped the itching and helped her to sleep well. Good luck!Health Question & Answer

Wow that is a mystery, I suggest you try to sleep somewhere else and see how it will go, it maybe either something in your room or in your bed.
I could b e wrong but it doesn't hurt to try.

It only happens at night when you are in bed.? You could have bed bugs. It could be an allergic reaction to your detergent or fabric softener. You mention the sheets or your pajamas are new, did you wash them before using or wearing.? It could be an allergic reaction to something the manufacture treats the fabric with or something got on the fabric during shipping. Try finding a hypoallergenic detergent with out dyes or scents and re-wash everything. If that doesn't work, get some cortisone cream and put that on instead of scratching. After that you should see a dermatologist. Health Question & Answer
