What is happening is perfectly normal, don't be alarmed if there are some blobs of blood also. This is a cleansing process.Change your pad as often as you feel it needs to be changed, you'll know. The flow varies from 4 or 5 Days to a week, it just depends on your body. There will be a tapering off at the end and can also be that way at the beginning. There will be discomfort during this time but there are medications you can buy over the counter to help. Talk to your Mom she will be able to help, If not, look for medication for menstrual pain. The main thing you need to know is that if you begin to experiment with sexual behavior you can get pregnant. Make a pact with yourself that you will wait until you are married before you have sex. Good Luck and God Bless You.
also when it starts to taper off, you can use just the panty liner type of pad for more comfort and it will protect your underwear.Health Question & Answer

It's normal to bleed like that, but it's also normal to have bleeding at ccertain times of the day, like in the morning, or more at night, and less at other times. Those red spots are areas of clotted blood. Gross, but it happens. Change your pad as often as you need in order to feel comfortable, clean, and protected, but ideally it's every 3-4 hours or so. Periods last anywhere from 3-7 days. Ask lots of q's on her, girls are very honest in their answers about their experiences.Health Question & Answer

i was 14 when i got my first period too. so yes. constant bleeding is totally normal. and it can look from a brownish color to a deep red like straight blood. but dont worry. grab some midol for the cramps if they hurt really bad and since it's your first period just try and kick back and relax. i know i was really uncomfortable and didnt want to go anywhere. and always brand of pads is pritty good. they also have the overnight pads too so you could stick to those for the night time so you dont ruin any of your undies. and if you do by chance get some menstral fluid on your panties. dont freak out and throw them away. just take them off and run them under cold water until the blood is cleaned off then wash them like you normally would in the laundry. hope i helped a little. good luck with your first period. hope your not too uncomfortable.!Health Question & Answer

Why don't you ask your mom.? Anyway your period is going to last about 5 days to a week with constant bleeding. It doesn't stop. You'll want to change your pad at least every 8 hours. Make sure you shower every single day and keep everything clean. If you get cramps (pain in your lower abdomen) don't worry that's just your uterus contracting. To relieve those just take medicine and a hot bath.

What is happening is your body is releasing an ova. Your uterine lining is also sluffing off. You'll get it once a month as you go through your cyle. Health Question & Answer

ok like the other girls said it is normal and you should use the night time pads....try always pad and during the day try always pads with wipes the smell good and help you feel cleaner and that dark stuff is blood clots you may feel nasty because sometimes you can feel them coming out but just try and keep yourself as clean as possibleHealth Question & Answer

congratulations on becoming a woman! :) ya it is normal to bleed constantly..try not to sleep on your back...take pain killer before you go to bed...wear the nighttime pads at night and even during school if you are heavy...they are extra thick and long...normally the bleeding can stop within 3 days to maybe a week probably a week for most people...it depends on how heavy your period is then you can judge if you should change your pad...good luck :)Health Question & Answer

Change the pad every 2 hours if possible. And Congrats!!!! You can always talk to your mom about this stuff if you have any more questions. Or talk to a friend or friend's mom.Health Question & Answer
