When I first started taking the pill I was a mess,I felt sick all the time I wasn't hungry at all and when I would eat the food felt like it was stuck, really depressed and really emotional and for me it never got better I would be laughing at something and then just start hysterical crying and then it would turn to anger all within a 5 min period. I don't know to many people that has happened to but for me the only thing I could do was go off the pill I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclin Low and I was only on it for about 2 months, the week after I stopped I was back to my normal self. I would talk to your doctor and let them know how your feeling maybe they can try a new pill or maybe put you on an antidepressant for a while. Try not to worry about it to much that will only make things worse just remember you wont feel like this forever it might just take you a while to get used to the pill but definitely mention it to your doctor soon you don't want to feel this way for to long. It is not uncommon for birth conttol pills to cause loss of appetite, headaches, and nausea the first couple of weeks you are on them-- it is just your body adjusting to the hormone fluctuation. Are you feeling down as in depressed or down as in lethargic/sleepy.? If you are feeling depressed, that is a serious hormonal fluctuation from this pill and you definitely need to change it on your next cycle. Hopefully, you will feel back to normal by the end of this week; if not, call the doctor that prescribed the pill to you so that he or she will know that you need to look into alternative ones. Not every pill works for every woman... I was on 4 different ones before finally finding one that got along with my system! :)

Don't force yourself to eat... that will just turn your lack of appetite into nausea! Just eat light: applesauce, soups, yogurt. Just like a woman with morning sickness doesn't force herself to ear, if you are having dietary changes as a result of hormones just listen to your body for a few days.

Good luck!Health Question & Answer
