Push the tampon in as far as you can without losing the string. (need to be able to pull it back out!) When it is in properly you shouldn't be able to feel it.
First time for sex should be a big event for you! It will hurt (more if his penis is large), you may bleed (due to the hymen breaking), and you should use protection. A properly used condom! The sex will get better after the first few times. Best of luck and stay safe!!!Health Question & Answer

if your tampon is in properly you wont be able to feel it. push it in as far as it will go.
