Question: Help, this hair problem is really upsetting me, and I am worried now that it is something serious....?
My hair has been continuously falling out for about four months now. Just recently, it has become worse. I run my hands through my hair and about five strands come out. Whenever I brush my hair, even more strands come out. Hair is starting to show up on my clothes and when I wake up, on my pillow.
I know that hair does fall out and that is is natural to loose about 100 strands a day, but this is an excessive amount, way more than 100. I am scared I am not going to have a lot of hair soon or that it is a more serious problem. What can I do to stop this, is there a certain vitamin I could be lacking.? (Although I think I am pretty healthy because I am a competitive soccer player.)

Female hair loss is becoming more and more common even in teenagers. I'm sure you're scared because you don't know when this is all going to end. You could be experiencing telogen effluvium (diffuse hair loss) or possibly alopecia areata. Alopecia areata usually starts out as round bald patches.

Diffuse hair loss can be caused by may things. With teens it is sometimes related to hormonal changes that all teens experience. Starting or stopping birth control pill is another example of hormonal change that can cause hair loss.

Think back to a few months before you noticed increase in hair loss. Did anything happen around that time such as an illness, change in diet, extreme stress, accident, trauma etc.

Anything like that can temporarily disrupt the hair growth cycle and cause an increase in hair loss.

Zinc is an important hair vitamin as are many others. I like Nature's Plus Ultra Hair to make sure I;m getting the vitamins my hair needs.

I lost most of my hair when I was 32 years old. It was pretty traumatic. I used essential oil formulas to grow my hair back.

you may be in top physical fitness but that dosen't mean that your body has everything it needs to progress naturally.i would know im the top wrestler at my school [high school].the vitamins your probably looking for would be vitamin B,These are usually found in whole grains, fresh fruit, brewer's yeast, eggs, fish, turkey, meat, and milk.
