Is it proper for a married women to submit themselves to male gyn doctors in non emergency situations?!

I have never thought of it that way, but have always chosen to see a female for any woman exams. I have not read that passage before and it made me think. Thanks!Health Question & Answer

You have to understand that it doesn't matter what sex a doctor may be. The doctor has taken an oath to heal the body. If he or she abuses that oath by sexualizing the patient or other forms of abuse then he or she will loose their license to practice. To a doctor, looking at your genitals is no different then looking at your ear or your big toe. They are all a part of the whole body. Well I won't argue with you about the issue, and you should know my religion too says to woman not to be exposed to a man and like that says every other religion I heard of, even moral sense say so, but in the doctor patient relationship it special issue with special person.

I will ask you two question to answer them to yourself:
- why do you think the doctor is most respectful professional in all societies.?

I'm married, I see a male gynecologist and my husband has no problem with it, nor do I.

If you've ever been on the receiving end of a pelvic exam or pap smear, you would know that there is absolutely nothing sexual about it. There is always another female in the room during the exam and the whole thing takes less than 10 minutes.

I'm a devout Christian and I don't think its against God's will for a male doctor to see me.Health Question & Answer

It is your choice to see a gyno of whatever gender you wish. However, it's not fair of you to try and make the rest of the world conform to your religious-based restrictions for not doing so. Everybody is entitled to believe how they wish (at least in MY country) . Other than your religious objections, there is no good reason NOT to see a male gyno. Are you married.? Have you EVER had sex.? Im guessing yes, so look at "leviticus 18" or whatever and you've been naked infront of the opposite sex. SINNER. no no. Its completely fine for men to be gynecologists. Its what THEY want to be. Its THEYRE career. If they got in it just to look at womens vaginas all day, then they'll see alot of nasty things, including herpes, gonorrhea, etc. They are supposed to make sure you are "right" down there. If they wanted to get into that job just to look at vaginas, then they'll be in tough sh*it because that takes alot of studying and stuff. Ofcourse they are men, like other men. But they respect women more becuase they know how to help us when we need something. Its the same as a woman gynecologist. They both learn about the body the same way.
