Bleeding After Sex.. ?!

Question: Bleeding After Sex.. .?
Background Info: I am 30, have PCOS, and I do not get my period on a normal basis. About a month ago, I had some abdominal pain, and went to the doctor, they did blood tests, and a CT Scan. Found nothing! Just that my cervix seems to be closed. also took a PG test which came up negative.

Last night my husband and I had sex, it was pretty rough, but nothing out of the normal for us. After he was finished he pulled out and his entire area was covered w/blood, there was blood ont he bed and all over my area. I went in the shower where I continued to bleed, large clots of blood. There was no pain at first, but lower pelvic pain came about an hour afterward, and did not go away into the night. The pad this morning was full of blood, but it does not appear I am bleeding now. However when I pee, there are blood streaks in my pee.

Really don't know what is going on. Just trying to get some insight.Health Question & Answer

Your endometrium might be shedding. I'm not sure though. I have PCOS and I usually bleed like that, but not during or after sex. I think that having sex just made it actually come out a little. Your endometrium wall builds up after a long period of time (PCOS-ppl) and it eventually sheds off. I truly do think you are just shedding, but you should see a physician.Health Question & Answer

PCOS are associated with hormonal insuficiencies.its possible that u did not get wet enough before penetration and so the increased friction caused some vaginal lacerations. its also possible that the sex just coincided with ur period.normally sexual excitement tends to stimulate uterine contractions and hence the bleeding, especially if it coincided with ur menses. if vaginal lacerations is ruled out.i think u have nothing to worry about dearHealth Question & Answer

I too have PCOS and have had scans - the CT is the external one right.? Well, they also do an internal scan using what can only be described as (what looks like) a plastic stick with a condom on it. This internal scan gives them a better idea of what's going on in there.

They discovered that my womb is wonky - but apparently this is quite normal - hence the pains I was experiencing. Some girls also have thinner skins on our cervix so when things get too busy, this skin can be rubbed raw and bleed.

Be careful you don't get a secondary infection of cystitis as this can happen.

Sorry - totally forgot to say to pop along to the Doc's for a check up, they may suggest an internal scan just to rule out things like fibroids and endometriosis.Health Question & Answer
