i think it is because the mirena iud goes into threw the cervix and is place in the uterus.
i have one had it since last year and i am fine, never had an IUD. and you can get pregnant again right a way after stopping my friend Beth had hers removed last year and her baby is due in march.
its great i am so glad i have mine, i have a 3 day period every 4 or 5 months and that's it.
